How to prepare for my float
If you’re new to floating, you may be a little unsure about what to expect and how to prepare. We have you covered. This guide will have you walking into your first float like a pro! You will get the most from your time in the float tank with just a little preparation.
Avoid caffeine - or any stimulants 4-6 hours ahead of your float. That can interrupt the relaxation response.
Food - Have a bit of food in your stomach. A snack or small meal 60-90 minutes ahead of time can reduce the chances of tummy grumbles, which can be quite disruptive to your relaxation while in the pod.
Shaving - Don't shave the day of your float. Shaving can the irritate skin which can be a bit ouch-y when you get into the salt water. If you have shaved, use the Petroleum Jelly provided to cover any nicks or scratches.
Preparedness - Consider some transition time into your plan. Coming straight from a workout or busy, rushed day, or hurrying to make it on time through traffic may leave you feeling frazzled. We encourage our floaters to come relaxed and ready to bliss-out.

Floating is a Journey - you should consider committing to a three float series to maximise benefits.
Like many things, with floating, you reach the best benefits with continuity and experience, and one float is generally not enough to judge. Your first float can take time to get used to. Your brain will be confused by the lack of signals from the central nervous system, and so it starts creating its own input and you can feel a little restless or not able to shut your mind off on your first float.
This is why we recommend a series of three floats within a 3 - 6 week period to maximise your benefits and truly soak up all the goodness from your float experience. You will be able to notice the change from the first to the third float, and you will be fully immersed in the beautiful process that unfolds and goes deeper with each float.
Using the tips above will help you have the best float possible, and we hope you love it as much as we do!
